Yea ! Summer is here

Well we finally were able to open the pool up this past weekend. It was a beautiful weekend to do it too. We rode the 4 wheeler, ate ice cream, cooked on the grill, sat outside enjoying watching the deer and just hanging out together. It was a fun weekend !

Megan thought she would be able to swim in it this weekend. I reminded her that the water is about 64 degrees right now. She didn't get in.

Someone made this adoption video to promote adoption, she asked for pictures of children that were adopted, so malia is in it.

The Quake

I have been going back and forth on whether or not to post about the devastation going on in China right now from the earthquakes or not. I have been on MSNBC for 3 days now eating up the pictures and information. Although Malia is not from the effected area, I'm so saddened by the news and it hits hard when you see the pictures of parents grieving over their child's body. I could not even imagine, in fact I don't want to imagine it. I wish I could just push everything aside, fly over there and help in some way.

I have to list 3 things about me.

1. Some of you know, some don’t, but I’m (was) a heavy smoker and have been for a little over 25 years, (yikes) and I just quit. I used Chantix and let me tell you if I can quit using it, anyone can do it ! Its only been 7 days but if I can go for 24 hours without one I can go years. I mean we are talking about a person who had to light one up before she ever got out of bed !

2. I have this horrendous fear of dying. Not of actually the dying part but….I want to live forever and especially, to at least see Malia married and her first born.

3. I LOVE to cook and bake.

(Yes, I made two # 3's )
3. My favorites are…..
Camping, gardening and reading.
Color-----Black
Food-----anything my mom makes, Home made potpie, Apple Crumb pie,
Beverage- Water, Iced Tea (with no sugar) and if its really hot out I can drink an ice cold Corona with a slice of lime while sitting at the pool. ;)

Ahh, some playmates for the summer !

Dylan and Leigh are home for the summer, whoohoo !
Here are some random pics that were taken over the past few days. Something funny happened last night that I just have to mention because its cute. All four of us were sitting of the couch last night watching TV and chatting. I was on one end, then Malia then Leigh and then Dylan. Leigh got up to get a drink and as soon as she got up and walked away, Malia very quickly scooted over to Dylan and snuggled up beside him. It's so cute, Malia is a little jealous of Dylan's girlfriend ! She sat in between the two of them the rest of the night. lol.

Finally, A Nice Day !

The weather around here has been a little cold and rainy lately. So when it was pretty nice out this weekend we took advantage of it. Malia LOVES to be outside, and will do anything to sneak out the door. Here are some new pictures, she just loves to play in the pool area, I'm not sure but I think it has to do with the fact that's its concrete and solid. She is very leery of walking on the grass or uneven ground, I'm sure it has to do with her sense of balance. We got her an AFO brace and the difference it makes is unbelievable ! She walks and runs with her body all facing forward now instead of running with her right side forward more then her left side. She really does not mind wearing it either.
