Bummer

I didn’t get my travel approval, but there is still hope !! I hear rumblings from others who said their agency told them more will come in the first week of July. So if I get mine the first week of July we will leave between the 16th and 23rd of July.
Its so weird, if I didn’t know any better I would swear that I’m pregnant. I’ve been “nesting” for over a week now. I think its funny and hey, I’m getting a lot done around the house ! I’ve changed up Malia’s bedroom a little. I got rid of the big TV/entertainment center (which I didn’t want in the first place) and ordered a daybed for her room. I figure that I can use it if Malia has any problems at night and also Megan can use it when she stays here.

Oh, and my mother is getting pretty angry with me because I keep shopping. I PROMISE I WILL NOT SHOP ANYMORE. You have my word !!!

Hmmmm, I don’t want to get my hopes up, but there were a few announcements today of some travel approvals coming in. The ones that came in today have the same LOA date as me………so that MAY mean that I MIGHT get my travel approval tomorrow?

They all seem to be leaving for China on 7/5/07. That’s basically a 14 day notice. That’s Ok with me though, I’m pretty much already packed, hehehe. Actually I have a confession to make, I’ve had myself and the baby’s stuff packed for close to a month now. I started packing Gary’s stuff this past weekend. I’m just so worked up, I cant sleep, I haven’t really been eating right either. I feel drained already and I don’t even have the baby yet.

We got some bad news yesterday……Gary will have to have surgery on his neck. He has degenerative disc disease in his neck and also severe neural foraminal narrowing, which is narrowing of the spinal canal. His spinal cord is basically getting squashed and that’s why he is in so much pain. He has been on pain killers for two weeks now and that’s not getting the job done so I guess surgery is the alternative. I have read that surgery is not the cure all either but it helps for awhile. His doctor told him he has the neck of a 70 year old man. Geez, where did that come from????

LOA, Whoooohoooo !!!!!

I got my LOA (letter of acceptance) today, which is the last step we need to take before China issues us travel approval. From the date of the LOA , you usually travel anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks after that. A letter of acceptance is a confirmation that you still want to adopt the child you applied for. So we are still looking at anywhere from the 2nd through the last week of July that we go.
