China seems to moving right along.

Well, the LOA’s ( letter of acceptance) are pouring in. It seems like most of the February LID’s (Log in dates) have gotten their LOA’s this past Friday. So China seems to be moving right along. When your dossier is in the “match room” they send you a letter of acceptance for you to sign and send back to them, just to make sure you want to go ahead with the adoption. Once you receive, sign the LOA it gets Fed-ex’d back to China and then they give you TA ( Travel Approval) it once you get TA, you usually go over in anywhere from 2 to 5 weeks.
LOA’s are coming in for people that have been logged in anywhere from 45 to 60 or more days. As of today I have been logged in for 39 days. So it’s possible for me to receive my LOA by the middle of May. Which still means June or July travel. Its looking more like sometime in June if things keep going the way they are.

More Pictures !!!

I received a surprise in my email today. Brian Stuy of was in China doing research work. He is taking pictures of Malia's "finding spot" for me. Well he surprised me this morning by sending me new pictures of Malia ! And she is actually smiling and her left hand is NOT "fisted" in any of the pictures. This is pretty encouraging. Mr. Stuy also sent me her finding add that was placed in the local paper.

New picture of Malia

There is a couple in China right now getting their daughter and they were able to visit the orphanage on Thursday. They took a few pictures of Malia for me. Looks like they are letting her hair grow.

Thursday, April 5, 2007

There is another family in China right now who had their "gotcha" day yesterday (4/4/07) they are going to go and visit the orphanage and try to get a picture of Malia for me. So I may be posting another picture of her real soon !!

Care Packages

I sent a care package to Malia. In it I put a cloth doll, 3 rattle type toys ( they said that a rattle is her favorite toy right now) 2 disposable cameras for them to take pictures of her in her daily life, a small child size photo album with pictures of her whole family that is labeled, and a few bags of candy for the nannies that take care of her. I'm going to send another one with a few outfits for Malia and a few more toys for the other children to keep.
Unfortunately there really is no way to tell if the orphanage or Malia ever really gets these packages, but you have to believe and hope they do.
